type continues

Just trying some different stuff with my typeface. What do you think?

more patterns

I have been making more patterns from my original grid. These patterns have really moved beyond the simple grid making many more interesting opportunities for typefaces.

Typeface 3

After creating the pattern from the grid, I started to create a typeface using the pattern. It is much more organic than my other typefaces. I like the idea of keeping the lines in the background and highlighting the letters from these lines. In this case I made them bolder but it could be a change of colour too. What do you think?

Pattern

I created this pattern from the city grid.

Typeface 2

Another idea for a typeface could be to use the grid and create letters using colours found around the city. This would evoke the feeling of Melbourne.

Movement & Type

Although these letters are static they suggest such movement and vibrancy. Since I am trying to define Melbourne's culture in a typeface, I need to think of a technique that suggests the multiple and varied parts to this culture. Does anyone have any suggestions of how I can suggest such variety in a typeface.

Type in the environment

Really interesting how type is placed into an environment instead of just onto it, like a poster. Seeing how it is interacted with in the space is thought provoking and something I need to consider with my research.
